Clear Aligner
A clear aligner is an orthodontic method that moves the teeth little by little by replacing transparent, removable custom appliances in stages. It is known as a method that is comparatively less noticeable, with no metal appliances.
In plain terms
Put simply, it is orthodontic treatment in which a clear “tooth tray” is worn to move the teeth a little at a time. Transparent appliances made for each stage are changed in order, gradually straightening the teeth.
With clear aligners, the stages of movement are designed through digital scanning and simulation, and the stage-by-stage transparent appliances are replaced at set intervals. Because they can be taken out for eating and brushing, hygiene care is known to be comparatively easier.
However, patient cooperation in keeping to the recommended daily wear time is important to the outcome, and depending on the type and the degree of malocclusion there are cases where clear aligners are not suitable and fixed appliances are recommended. Suitability is judged after detailed diagnosis.
