Definition

What is prosthodontic treatment?

Prosthodontic treatment uses artificial restorations to replace or repair damaged, decayed, or missing teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics.

Crowns cover a damaged tooth completely; bridges span a gap using adjacent teeth as support; inlays and onlays restore moderately damaged teeth conservatively.

Dentures — partial or complete — replace multiple or all missing teeth when implants are not indicated or preferred.

Digital CAD/CAM fabrication allows precise, well-fitting prosthetics with natural-looking aesthetics through shade matching.

01Frequently asked

What is the difference between a crown and an inlay?

A crown covers the entire visible tooth surface. An inlay or onlay is a conservative restoration placed inside or partially covering the tooth when the damage is too extensive for a filling but does not require full coverage.

02Frequently asked

How long do crowns last?

Zirconia crowns are known to be highly durable; with proper oral hygiene and regular check-ups, they are reported to last 10–15 years or longer in many cases.

03Frequently asked

Can a damaged tooth always be saved with a crown?

If the tooth root and surrounding bone are healthy and sufficient structure remains, a crown can often save a damaged tooth. Severely compromised teeth may require extraction and implant replacement — assessed case by case.
