Definition

What is All-on-X?

All-on-X is a full-arch restoration technique using 4–6 strategically tilted implants to support a fixed prosthesis for an entire dental arch.

Tilting the posterior implants allows them to engage the denser bone in the anterior jaw, reducing or eliminating the need for sinus lifts and extensive bone grafting.

A provisional prosthesis is provided the same day as surgery, so eating soft foods can begin immediately.

The technique is particularly effective for patients with significant bone loss in the posterior regions.

Benefits

Advantages of All-on-X

  • 01Full-arch restoration with just 4–6 implants — reduced surgical burden
  • 02Bone grafting often not required — shorter overall treatment time
  • 03Same-day provisional restoration — immediate function
  • 04Fixed prosthesis — no removal and reinsertion like a denture
  • 05Natural-looking aesthetics matching the patient's facial proportions
01Frequently asked

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?

All-on-4 uses 4 implants per arch; All-on-6 uses 6. The number is determined by bone volume, arch width, and prosthetic design through CBCT analysis. More implants generally provide additional stability.

02Frequently asked

Is bone grafting required?

In many cases, bone grafting can be avoided by using the tilted implant technique. However, if bone deficiency is severe, limited grafting may still be recommended — this is determined during CBCT analysis.

03Frequently asked

Can I eat right after surgery?

Yes — a provisional full-arch prosthesis is provided the same day, allowing you to eat soft foods immediately.

04Frequently asked

How long does All-on-X treatment take?

From surgery to the final prosthesis, the process generally takes 4–6 months. Without bone grafting, the timeline is often shorter than conventional full-arch implant treatment.

All-on-X treatment process

Step 01

CBCT Analysis & Digital Surgical Planning

Bone density, nerve positions, and sinus anatomy are analyzed to plan optimal tilted-implant positions.

Step 02

Precision Surgical Guide Fabrication

A digital surgical guide is fabricated to accurately place implants at the planned tilted angles.

Step 03

Implant Placement & Same-Day Provisional

4–6 tilted implants are placed under anesthesia using the surgical guide. A provisional full-arch prosthesis is attached the same day.

Step 04

Osseointegration Monitoring

Bone bonding is monitored over 3–6 months while the patient uses the provisional prosthesis.

Step 05

Final Prosthesis Fabrication & Placement

Digital impression data are transmitted to our partner laboratory; the final zirconia full-arch prosthesis is fabricated and seated.
