Definition
Teeth whitening is an aesthetic procedure that brightens tooth color by breaking down staining substances with a whitening agent, without reducing the tooth.
It naturally brightens teeth that have yellowed from coffee, wine, smoking, or aging.
Unlike laminates or crowns, it does not alter the tooth structure at all, making it known as the most conservative aesthetic treatment.
Dr. Beauty Dental Hospital checks for cavities and gum condition before the procedure and performs whitening safely.
Benefits
Professional whitening is known not to damage the enamel. The whitening agent selectively breaks down only the staining substances, and the tooth structure itself does not change.
Temporary sensitivity may occur after the procedure, but it is reported to resolve naturally within 1–2 days. For patients with high sensitivity, a low-irritation whitening agent is used.
A noticeable change appears with 1–2 office whitening sessions, and combining home whitening can achieve a brighter and longer-lasting result.
Avoiding staining foods (coffee, wine, curry, cola) for 24–48 hours after the procedure helps the effect last longer.
Office whitening and home whitening are non-covered (out-of-pocket) procedures, and the cost varies by method and scope. We provide an accurate estimate after a thorough examination, and the non-covered fee schedule is available on our website.
Whitening improves only the color and does not reduce the tooth. Laminates improve color, shape, and alignment simultaneously but require tooth reduction. For simple discoloration we recommend whitening; if you also want to change the shape, we recommend laminates.
It usually resolves naturally within 1–2 days. For patients with strong sensitivity, we provide fluoride application and a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

Day 0
Cavities and gum condition are checked, and the current shade is recorded with a shade guide.
Day 1
Gum protection applied → high-concentration whitening agent applied → light activation for 15–20 minutes, repeated 2–3 times. Completed in about one hour in total.
Week 1–4
A custom tray is fabricated to apply a low-concentration whitening agent at home for 30 minutes–2 hours daily. This reinforces the office whitening effect and extends its duration.
Month 6+
A touch-up whitening every 6 months–1 year helps maintain the bright shade.
